For half a century since its predecessor established a bamboo material Kyushu-based factory in 1963, Yamachiku has consistently worked to make the most of bamboo and succeeded in producing many high-quality bamboo chopsticks.
Bamboo grows well in warm areas, and Kyushu prefecture accounts for about 40% of the total area of bamboo forests in Japan. They only make bamboo chopsticks from pure, natural bamboo harvested from deep in the mountains of Kumamoto and Fukuoka prefectures.
